I found this wonderful bright yellow flowering tree right off of the Park University campus, so I decided to take my first hike of the spring through the Parkville Nature Sanctuary this past week. It was also my first small solo hike! Since I was alone I decided to take some nice videos of the serenity of the area, and signs of the coming spring!

Watch the video here!

Fun Fact!

The "Old Kate Trail" is named after the mule who pulled a cart of water around the Park University campus before the water systems were installed. She passed away on the day that the systems were installed. A wheel from her cart was made into a light fixture hanging in the entryway of the Herr House building on campus!

Parkville

is a quaint but lively town right off of Kansas City. It is one of my favorite places to explore. It has tons of interesting details, unique sights, and experiences. Wonderful restaurants, cute antique malls, bountiful farmers markets, beautiful nature, and an amazing University. Parkville Nature Sanctuary is also the best Sanctuary that I have been to in the area! There is such a variety of landscape, and it covers SO much acreage! The waterfall is definitely the main attraction. It is awe-inspiring when it's in full force!

The sanctuary was also nice to share my video on their Facebook page!
